After the initial announcement about a show being on its way, Mnet has dropped concrete details including the title, concept, and the premiere date! It’ll be called ‘EXO 90:2014‘, and like its name, it’ll aim to connect K-Pop veterans from the ’90s with EXO to re-explore past hit songs as well as ’90s culture.
The EXO members will appear as the lead characters in the ‘2014 version’ music videos of these past songs that will be produced with each episode. Fans aren’t the only ones excited for this new series as the members themselves expressed, “We are looking forward to showcasing the 2014 versions of our sunbaes’ hit songs with a sense of responsibility.”
The show’s staff also shared, “We felt that EXO were the most fitting to become the main characters who will connect the beginning of Hallyu, the ’90s, with 2014. We look forward to the re-living of the past culture and memories of the ’90s by bringing together the pioneers of K-Pop and EXO, who are leading the Hallyu craze.”.

The show is known as EXO’s Showtime and will air on MBC Every1 starting on November 28. The producers announced this week that member Chanyeol will act as MC for the program and will lead fans through the popular group’s inner workings.
The EXO members hope to give their fans a real sense of what they are like when they are not performing and in the spotlight.
“We want to show EXO being ourselves,” said Suho. “We hope this will become an opportunity for EXO to strengthen our teamwork.”
Baekhyun agreed and explained, “I want to show the comfortable and friendly image of an ordinary 22-year-old guy.”
Reps from EXO’s Showtime also said that the first episode has the guys answering questions from their followers.
Sometimes the questions are direct, sometimes a little silly and in the case of the first filming, a bit difficult. For the first episode of the show the twelve members were asked who among them is the best looking.
Although at first they did not want to tread on anyone’s feelings by saying, “Everyone has so many charms, it’s difficult to choose,” they eventually turned the matter into a visual group ranking.
“This is our first reality show, so I feel nervous,” admitted D.O. “But I think we had fun while filming. We are going to show many sides of us never seen before, so please look forward to it.”
EXO’s Showtime is scheduled to premiere on November 28 on MBC Every1 beginning at 6 pm KST.
